National Teddy Bear Day is September 9, and every year, the City of Glendale honors the nostalgia and craftsmanship of the beloved doll. Here are some of our favorite Teddy Bear themed experiences around the city.
Shopper Spotlight: Bears & More
Linda and Valerie opened up the shop Bears & More in 1992 in one of the nationally registered bungalow-style houses, the architecture style that gives Historic Downtown Glendale’s Catlin Court its quaint charm. The shop stocks Charlie Bears, a brand of handmade teddy bears featuring premium materials such as mohair and alpaca. In addition to teddy bears, Bears & More sells games, puzzles, books and other plush friends. For National Teddy Bear Day, Bears and More sells new teddy bears to distribute to local Trauma Teddy programs, first responders and emergency rooms during Glendale’s National Teddy Bear Event.
Glendale’s National Teddy Bear Event
Join The City of Glendale in Historic Downtown Glendale and Catlin Court on the Saturday closest to September 9 to celebrate National Teddy Bear Day. (Check our event page to confirm exact date and time for this year.) The Glendale event features make-and-take crafts, interactive activities, visits with Arizona Search Dogs and characters like Lightning McQueen. The Glendale Fire Department, Glendale Police Department and Maricopa County Sheriff Department will also be on hand. Many of Historic Downtown Glendale's boutique shop, specialty stores and restaurants also have special offers and discounts for National Teddy Bear Day.
