Kids Can Explore World of Construction and More at Annual Touch a Truck Oct. 22
Commercial and industrial vehicles will include a tow truck, dump truck, commercial bucket loader, sanitation vehicle, backhoe and an 18-wheeler. In addition, the Glendale Police Bomb Squad truck and robot will be on site, as well as the US Forest Service with a fire vehicle. Sponsor Empire CAT will bring some special vehicles, as well. Find out exactly what a mini excavator, a skid steer, a motor grader and a wheel loader look like, and exactly what they do on a job site.
Along with the trucks, there are special activities for children including a sand play area, a miniature roadway with toy vehicles called Tiny Tot Drivers and The Big Dig where children can try their hand at scooping sand with a contraption that works like a backhoe.
Admission to this family event is FREE! Bring a camera to capture photos of your “crew” behind the wheel. For more information, visit the Parks and Rec site or call 623-930-2820.
Empire CAT Touch-a-Truck is produced by the city of Glendale Public Facilities, Recreation and Special Events Department, and presented by Westgate Entertainment District, the Arizona Trucking Association, Walmart Transport and Bedrock Sand and Gravel.
